We're in the home stretch before Break. It's a busy time of year, but we've still got things to get done before taking some well deserved time off. Please be sure that assignments are getting done so that they don't have to be worried about over vacations. Also, many students have still not turned in their syllabus for Marking Period 2. Extra copies can be found under the Important Documents tab.
Apparel orders have gone home with all students. Orders and money must be in by Thursday, December 10 so that we can have these before we leave for Break. Additional order forms can be found under the Important Documents tab. 6th Grade Our concert is nearly here! One of our pieces needs some audience participation to make it as awesome as it can be. Prior to the concert, please download one of these jingle bell apps (apple, android) so that you can play along! Students should dress nicely and arrive by 6:30 on Thursday. The concert will begin at 7PM. Please save seating in chairs for those family members who may have a difficult time climbing into and sitting in the bleachers. 7th and 8th Grade AWESOME job at our first concert of the year! Our music for this performance had its challenges, but you came through and put on a great show. I'm proud of the work you've done so far and I'm excited to start working on new music together! No time to relax yet though because it's time to start preparing for Band Festival and for several individuals and small groups to really buckle down on their Solo and Ensemble music. Students preparing for Solo and Ensemble are encouraged to set up times to practice together, seek out a private instructor or SCHS tutor, and be sure to sign up to see Mrs. R-O when we come back from Break in January. Band Festival will likely be either March 3 or 4 in the late afternoon or evening. Additional details about location and specific times will be released as soon as they are available. Please make sure these dates are blocked off on the calendar though! There are also several assignments due soon in Google Classroom for 7th and 8th Grade ,including the Concert Reflection, Festival Music Suggestion, and scale playing tests.
