March 2: Band Festival at Fraser High School (7th and 8th ONLY)
March 16: Double Play Day (6th ONLY) March 26: All-City Band (7th ONLY) March 27: District 16 Honors Band (select 7th and 8th graders only) Band Festival Festival will be on FRIDAY, March 2 at Fraser High School. The 7th Grade Band will play at 5:50 and the 8th Grade Band will play at 8:20. 7th Grade students will stay after school for a final rehearsal before loading the trailer and leaving for Fraser at 4:15. Families are welcomed and encouraged to come hear us play! Having friendly faces in the audience is a big help for nerves! We would still like to have one more parent join us for the bus rides to and from Fraser HS. Please contact Ms. Rever if interested! Letters and permission slips went out three weeks ago. Permission slips are due ASAP. Extras are available under Important Documents. In Parent/StudentVUE a "1" signifies a permission slip has been received. "2" signifies a submitted permission slip and notification that the student is riding home with a parent. "0" indicates that I do not yet have a slip for that student. Students wanting to ride home from Festival with a parent MUST notify Ms. Rever in NO LATER than February 27. Because parents will be riding the bus with students, lists must be finalized prior to leaving and cannot be changed on the fly the evening of Festival. Scheduling We know there are a lot of important decisions coming up regarding scheduling for both Hart and SCHS. Please let us know if we can assist you and your students in any way to help them keep making music with us! Double Play Day March 16. 6th Grade. After school. Music. Food. Inflatables. See the information under Important Documents for more awesome details! Registration forms and fees are due by March 5! Online Practice Resource 6th Graders are encouraged to go to SI Online! It offers free resources linked with our Band Books that will be a HUGE help for at home practice!!! Students who have lost their band book need to contact one of our local music stores to order a new one. It will continue to be used for the remainder of the school year and the playing test that is due next Friday is out of their book as well. Private Lessons Whether looking to get caught up or needing a greater challenge, it's never too late to get started with some private lessons! Information for free lessons with Stoney Creek students has been posted in Google Classroom. We are also fortunate to live in an area with many professional private instructors. Check out the list under Important Documents! Google Classroom Many students have missed out on assigned work and tests due to not enrolling in our new Google Classes!
