It's a busy time for everyone! Please make sure our dates are on the family calendar. Also, the third marking period ends March 29. Students missing playing tests need to have them submitted on Google Classroom no later than March 25 to allow time for them to be checked prior to grade submission. All City Band Concert The 7th Grade Band will be performing as a part of our district wide All-City Band Concert on March 27 at Stoney Creek. Students need to wear their band uniform and should please arrive at SCHS by 6:20. Music Stands All students can benefit from having their own music stand at home! Inexpensive folding stands can be ordered from any of our local music stores and will be delivered to Hart. These are really helpful in making sure that students are sitting/standing and holding their instrument properly. Reeds and Books All reed players should have a constant supply of several reeds to rotate. Playing on one too long not only impacts sound negatively, but can actually make students sick because old reeds can be a prime breeding ground for all sorts of bugs! Reeds can be ordered from Anderson's Music or A&G Central and will be delivered right to Hart. Please contact your student's teacher if you have any questions. If your student is missing their music or band book, please encourage them to check our Lost and Found. Also, students whose band books are definitely lost and gone forever are responsible for ordering a replacement. 6th Grade especially uses these as individual workbooks and it is difficult for students without books to complete assignments in and out of class. Both A&G and Anderson's can bring books to Hart on their weekly stop if they're ordered in advance. 8th Grade Families It's time to start thinking about high school band at Stoney Creek High School! Families are encouraged to join their Facebook Group and follow their weekly updates. This year's 8th Graders will have the opportunity to travel in 2021 and there will be a kick off meeting for the SCHS Music Boosters discount card fundraiser on March 18 in the SCHS Choir room to help students raise money to go to Hawaii! We know that there can be a lot of questions as students put together their schedule for Freshman Year too, so please contact Ms. Rever or Mrs. Staniszewski if there are any questions we can answer. Schedule Update Please note that the 6th Grade Band/Orchestra concert in May has been moved to May 9. The performance schedule for the remainder of the year can be found here. Please make sure you have all of our spring dates on your family calendar!
