Musician and Instrument Masks
All students EXCEPT percussionists need to order our specialty musician PPE. Read here for more information. This link will take you directly to the page to place your order. NO INSTRUMENTS are needed this week, but we're aiming to play in class starting the week of October 26 so please order soon! This information was emailed out, but it appears that it may have been caught by a few spam filters. Apologies if it did not make it to you! End of 1st Marking Period With the end of the marking period quickly approaching, please remind your student to check for missing work in StudentVue. We will accept any late assignments for full credit through October 23 to allow for time to get everything checked in prior to the end of the marking period on October 30. It is always helpful for your student to send a short, detailed email letting us know when late work is submitted in Google Classroom so that we don't miss anything and give students credit for everything they complete. 6th Grade Band Books Since we'll be playing in person in band class soon, it is highly recommended for all students to have a hard copy band book. We are using the book Sound Innovations and it can be purchased from A&G, Anderson's Music, or any other local vendors or online shops. Communication As always, students should email their teacher with questions. Private comments on assignments are often not seen until we check those assignments which is frequently too late to help and we do not get notifications for them. Practicing All students should have a good practice routine established. 10-20 minutes on a regular basis versus only playing when class meets is going to help your student move along with much more comfort and confidence! Instrument Care We know that all our instrument playing is happening at home, but it is really important that students not eat while playing. Having food immediately before or while playing will result in food particles in instruments and will cause damage over time as well as provide a prime breeding ground for lots of germs.
